The weather in this area is cold in the winter with some snow and warm in the summer with lots of plants. It is cooler in the fall and warmer than fall in the spring. The climate is average for Colorado.

Wild berries of Colorado provide vitamins and enzymes that are often missing in ordinary backpacking food. Berries can be very
yummy, juicy,healthy, and usually sweet. Here are some of the most common healthy berries: Bluberries,Blackberries,Strawberries,
and cherries. Most berries are edible and even healthy, but some can be very harmful to humans. Some poisonous berries can cause
ilness, or even death. Here are five poisonous berries to stay away from:
Pockeweed berries - grow in bushes and become purple when fully grown
If crushed in your hand your hand will become purple
May cause headaches,diarrhes, and severe abdominal pain
Actea Pachypoda- Grow up to 50 cm, and sprout white flowers
Extremely poisonous to human beings
Can lead to cardiac arrest, and eventually death
Yew Berries- Red in color
Have a hard green stone in the center
Green seeds in the berry are only poisonous
Lead to severe abdominal pain, vomitting,breathlessness, nausea, and dizziness
Holly Berry- Bright red color
Lead to severe nausea,vomitting, diarrhea, and dizziness
Ivy Berries- Grow to a height of 25 to 30 ft tall
Grow up againest trees
Small and black in color
Ripen in late winter
Can cause allergic reactions
